SharkNinja is not a new name in the field of household appliances.
Initially known as Euro-Pro, it was a family-run company that started over a hundred years ago. A big name in the European market, Euro-Pro mostly dealt with sewing machines.
It took years of hard work and three generations later, under the leadership of the family’s heir Mark Rosenzweig (who is the company’s CEO and majority shareholder), the household appliance maker diversified into its current verticals.

In 2008, Euro-Pro only controlled a meagre 1% share of the vacuum cleaner sales in the United States.

Euro-Pro’s journey under this name came to an end in 2015 when the corporate leadership realized that they could bank on their two best selling brands for better marketing.
The name Euro-Pro was dropped and replaced with a name that put together the two major brands mentioned before – Shark and Ninja, amalgamated to SharkNinja.
The company changed its product lineup to bring in the higher-end vacuums and blenders with innovative features and get rid of the cheaper products.
This was done in order to build up consumer loyalty and ensure that the designing work that was being done in-house was of top quality.
Over the years that Euro-Pro turned into SharkNinja, the company was also able to double its revenues from about $800 million to more than $1.6 billion.
In this process, SharkNinja was also about to dethrone British home appliance company, Dyson, to become the leader of the vacuum cleaner market in the United States.
The company also expanded to its new facility – a new 150,000 square foot world-class corporate headquarters in Needham – during this phase of rapid development.
